Planning Your Golf Vacation Package For Orlando

The game of golf seems to be most celebrated in Orlando and the surrounding areas of Florida. With all the tourism that visits this sunshine state, it stands to reason that there are plenty of golf courses in the area. There are 24 public, private and semi-private courses in the city limits of Orlando alone, but when you add in the surrounding areas of Seminole County and Kissimmee, the number goes to more than 50.

There are more than 30 PGA golfers that live in and around the area, so Orlando must be doing something right. Many of the courses there are the locations for some of the yearly PGA events. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is held every year in March at the Bay Hill Golf Club and Lodge.

If you are looking to plan an entire golf vacation package or if you just want to play a few rounds while you are on a family vacation, Orlando has plenty to offer. To some vacationers, the cost is irrelevant; however to most of us, some of the courses will be well above our travel budget. It is possible to find prices in the range of $30-$60 for 18 holes at some of the semi private and public clubs if you know when and where to look. There are websites and e-mail listings that you can go on that will let you know of last-minute openings at all of the courses in the Orlando area.

As soon as you know that you will be traveling to Orlando, you should start contacting the golf courses that you are interested in and find out how far in advance you need to make your tee times. Also ask if they require caddie services and see if they have any package deals for your trip.

An Orlando golf vacation package will typically include a certain number of nights in a hotel room or a suite and include a set number of rounds of golf all for one price.

These special package deals can be found all over the internet. You can also work with a travel agent as they will have access to a lot of great deals for you. It isn’t out of the ordinary to find golf packages that average about $100-$150 per day for a hotel room and 18 rounds of golf.

The packages can usually be tailored to fit any desire. You could choose to stay 4 days at one resort and have 4 tee times set up, one for each day of your stay. Each of these tee times could be set up at a different course in order to experience a variety of golf that Orlando offers.

Most of the courses also offer additional amenities such as golf lessons, day spas and 5 star restaurants. Some of these additional offerings can be added into your package deal along with rental cars too.

Whenever you hear anyone talk about taking a golf vacation in Orlando, your first thought may be that it sounds expensive. But, when you hear that you can easily stay in a nice resort’s suite and play a round of golf at one of the premier courses for around $100 a day, you would have to agree that it would be foolish not to look into Orlando.

Try a Panama Vacation and Find a Dream

If you try a Panama vacation you very rapidly find that there is more to Panama than just the canal. In fact many people return time and time again after first tasting what it has to offer. It’s not just Panama City.

If you want a bit of activity there are loads of mountains to climb, and for the less active, beautiful beaches to lie on with crystal clear water and snow white sand. Except Panama City itself, where the beaches are too polluted for swimming, but there are plenty more available on both the Pacific and Caribbean sides of the country. There are rainforests full of life, islands galore and cities with wonderful restaurants and bustling night life. That’s Panama - not at all as most people visualize it.

Let’s have a look at Panama City itself. You would not believe what it has to offer. It’s a gem, full of wonderful sights to see and places go. It’s a modern bustling city and contains the second largest duty free shopping area in the world. You can but just about anything there at fantastic prices. There are some musts for the new visitor and if this is your first time in Panama City you have to visit some of these, if not them all.

The Casco Viejo, which is the old Spanish colonial sector of Panama City. It presents a marvelous history of old Central America, with its churches, old plazas and paths. The palaces are amazing, and give just a slight view of what the old city used to be like. The Cathedral on Plaza de la Cathedral and the Presidential palace are well worth a visit. If you prefer something closer to nature, there is the Metropolitan National Park, just outside Panama City, with lots of walks, wildlife and species of plants that will be new to you.

The nightlife in Panama City really makes a Panama vacation, and is world famous. The best parts are the old Casca Viejo, the Amador Causeway and the business area of the city. There are loads of bars and casinos, and the discos are great. Like any big city, Panama can be a bit dangerous away from the main drag, so travel by taxi and stay where the bright lights and people are and you can’t go wrong.

If you stay at the Marriot, there is a British pub just round the corner called the El Pavo Real, that is very popular with Americans and Brits, but the most popular is the Hard Rock Café on Balboa Avenue. Due to its position in Central America, Panama has been composed of many races since the sixteenth century, and they have generally lived in peace and harmony. Most of them seem to congregate at the Hard Rock Café on a weekend evening. If you make the right decision and opt for a Panama vacation, don’t miss a visit. All age groups are welcome.

However, if you’ve opted for a Panama vacation, it’s probably the canal itself that you want to see. It was opened in 1914, is fifty-five miles long and raises or drops ships over eighty-five feet by a series of locks. The Miraflores Locks Visitor’s Center offers fantastic views of the ships making their way through the locks with a running commentary on the system provided by multilingual narrators. You can see the other set of locks at the Gatun end of the Gaillard Cut across the continental divide between them. Fantastic! You mustn’t visit Panama without having at look at either of these sets of locks started in 1903.

San Blas de Kuna is an archipelago that has as many islands as days in the year, and is worth a Panama vacation for them alone. It is the traditional home of the Kuna, who are a Native American society. Although part of Panama, the islands are administered by the Kuna, and the area is very beautiful with wonderful fauna and flora. If you are into scuba diving, the coral reefs here are a must. Crystal clear water with a myriad of underwater life.

Finally, I have left the best for the ladies till last. The shopping! Fantastic! You can get anything from inexpensive electronic goods to traditional crafts at the Balboa Artisans market, where the artisans themselves sell their own goods. This not far from downtown Panama and the artisans expect to be haggled so don’t accept the going price. It will be well inflated over the ultimate price expected. There’s also all the world class hopping you expect from a modern worlds class city.

Have You Considered a Dubai Vacation?

A Dubai vacation, within the United Arab Emirates, is not what you think it might be. Dubai is the second largest of the Emirates after Abu Dhabi and although it was once a town used by Bedouin traders, it now offers top class cuisine, excellent night life and even a ski slope.

Sure, you will get what you expect of an Arab city - the markets, or ’souks’ as they are called, and all of the traditional food and dress, but if you want to stay western with your food, then you can . . . and in style! Dubai is a place where you can rub shoulders with the very wealthy and very famous. So where do you stay while on holiday?

If you decide on a Dubai vacation, there is a wide variety of accommodation types from backpackers’ hostels to five star luxury hotels. There is something to fit everybody’s pocket and, despite what you may have heard, Dubai is not only for high rollers and the rich. It offers a unique experience of true Arabia that will remain in your memories all of your lives.

When you land at Dubai you are in a modern clean airport comparable with some of the best in the west. Dress is generally casual, and while Muslim women generally wear the traditional head covering, normal dress for a resort vacation is quite acceptable. There is no need for you to observe any specific dress code. As for entertainment, there is plenty to do on a Dubai vacation!

You can bet on the camel racing at the Nad el Sheba track, or wait till evening when the thoroughbred Arabs race. These beautiful horses are a sight to behold for anyone that knows about horses. You can visit high fashion stores or buy some very cheap laptops and MP3 players. With the tax free shopping, everything will be less expensive than you will pay at home, and half the fun is buying these things while on vacation in the Middle East. Because, as many people fail to remember while on vacation, Dubai is a middle eastern country.

There is frequently a misunderstanding of what a middle eastern desert country can provide to the visitor. After all, it’s all sand and no water, isn’t it? Well, absolutely not! If you think that you are totally mistaken! The snow park has temperatures down to -2 Celsius and it’s one of the few places in the Middle East were you have to wear warm clothing and gloves. Not only does it offer skiing, but also tobogganing and has a twin bobsled course. Children love vacations, and they can enjoy themselves in the snowball gallery and snow cavern. It’s marvelous for you and the kids and totally unexpected in a desert setting.

However, if you are considering a holiday in the Middle East, bear in mind that in summer Dubai can reach 102F, and it’s best for a winter or early spring holiday unless you really like the heat. With average mid-day temperatures of 95F to 105F it’s pretty warm, and even at night it rarely gets below 70F. In winter and early spring expect a cool 75F - 95F daytime temperature. If you like cold go to Alaska, not Dubai!

And how about the golf? There are several golf courses in Dubai, and more on the way, designed by people such as Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Colin Montgomerie, and if Arizona and Nevada can have world class golf courses, why not Dubai? You don’t have to carry your bit of magic carpet around to tee off from in the sand - these courses are world class. Like the Emirates Golf Club that hosts the Dubai Desert Classic that attracts the best golfers in the world. To play and lunch there is an unbelievable experience. If the heat gets to you, you can avoid the high temperatures by playing at the Nad al Sheeba golf club, an eighteen hole course that is fully floodlit till midnight.

If you make the right decision, Dubai offers the Desert Safari, but not on camels . . . in SUVs! You can enjoy climbing and shooting down sand dunes at amazing speeds, and the water theme park is up to anything Disney can provide. The annual Dubai shopping festival is world renowned, with the gold souk, perfumes and all the exotic delights with which you associate this part of the world. The beach, with its clean white sand, is a dream and that water is so refreshing in this climate. Dubai zoo is close to Jumeirah beach and is great for the kids, or even adults who are interested in the wide range of wildlife that it has.

A Bahamas Vacation is Never Forgotten

If you decide on a Bahamas vacation, you will have an experience you will never forget. The Bahamas offer crystal clear water, snow white warm sand and an easy laid back way of life. Just what you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living, and get that vacation you truly need.

The Bahamas consist of many islands, the two major ones being Paradise Island, or Nassau and Grand Bahama Island. It’s best to check out the islands and their possibilities before booking your vacation, since apart from the two main islands there are about a dozen more called the ‘out islands’ which are also great tourist bases offering a peaceful vacation away from the fast pace and rush of the city.

So what can a Bahamas vacation offer you? Let’s check out the obvious ones first: the water sports. Many people decide on a Bahamas vacation only because of the water sports. But what’s the point of that? You can get equally the same kind of sports on any resort beach anywhere in the world. Why should somebody from the Carolinas Grand Strand, or Florida for that matter, consider a vacation in the Bahamas? They should be able to get all they want from their own back yard! Let’s check it out.

The Bahamas water is crystal clear and a lovely bright turquoise color. The weather is perfect - not to hot, never too cold. The sandy beaches are pollution free and lovely pearly white. So are many other resorts, so why choose the Bahamas? Well, for starters, the indigenous population of the Bahamas has a different culture; so sure, Florida would be great if you just wanted more of the same but with a beach. With a Bahamas vacation you get a beach and a different type of holiday.

Different people with their own crafts and ways of doing things. Different food. Some would argue that the Bahamas’ water is the cleanest in the world. Some may disagree. However, in the Bahamas you get shark dives, you get to swim with wild dolphins, not tame ones in a pool, and you get to eat real food, not just Big Macs and whatever else you normally eat on vacation.

A Bahamas vacation is different. You can visit any of the ‘out islands’ where you get away from the crowds and see animals in an undisturbed habitat. You can be matched with a native family to share a traditional meal and take part in a whole new cultural experience. You can not only observe the traditional life of the native people, but share it with them. This is a unique opportunity for a unique experience.

Alternatively, stay in a hotel. Get luxury five star treatment and pampering, and go home at the end of it totally relaxed, rested and ready for what the next 50 weeks are going to throw at you. Take a cruise if you don’t want to be stuck in the same place all the time, and visit several of the islands. You can design your Bahamas vacation to be what you want. There are over 700 islands in the Bahamas archipelago, none are restricted and they are only about 50 miles from Florida.

The bigger islands provide the comfort of established hotels and all that comes with them, like the comfort and the top class cuisine, while the smaller islands provide you with adventure and camping out if you want it. Some prefer catching and cooking their own fish, while others prefer waitresses and bellboys. Try both!

If you like a bit of night life, Nassau has night clubs, casinos and cabaret bars. The posh hotels have everything you could want, and New Providence Island is as well endowed with casinos and night clubs as the capital is. Shoppers are well catered for with a wide variety of native craft shops, gift shops, arts and leather goods, not to forget the normal main stores of the larger cities. Nassau is no backwater and can keep most shoppers happy while their other halves have an afternoon on the golf course or in the lidos.

A Berlin Vacation Will Surprise You

A few years ago if someone had suggested taking a Berlin vacation, you would have shuddered. Prior to the Second World War, Berlin was the heart of Europe, with great food and great entertainment. The film ‘Cabaret’, which is pretty true to the mark, indicates just how popular Berlin was. After the war, however, Berlin came under a Russian rule of iron, and all that stopped. Now, however, Berlin is again the capital city of Germany and has worked hard to regain its former glory.

With cutting edge music and theatre, Berlin is now the place to be. The arts scene in Berlin has achieved international acclaim, and what has been achieved since the wall fell in 1989 is no less than remarkable. This has occurred through the efforts of the Berlin people and the response of these efforts by the rest of the world. Berlin now provides a vacation to people of all ages through its history, arts, entertainment and hospitality.

Berlin is not a beautiful city in the same that Paris or Edinburgh is, but it is vibrant, and possesses a unique Germanic architecture that you cannot fail to be impressed with when you enter the city. It is now an international cosmopolitan city, and it is possible to visit Berlin on vacation, and leave, without ever having experienced Germany! There is French and Italian cuisine, the music of Strauss who was Austrian, the movies of America and the musicals of the British. You can purchase the sartorial creations of Versace and the perfumes of Lancôme and never come across true Germany.

However, this is to its credit. A city that has spent so long isolated from western influence has encompassed it with a will that belies its reputation as a stern city, to which fun was an anachronism. Berlin is now finding itself. It has a vibrancy that it never knew after 1936. It is rebuilding its traditions and is now a fascinating city to visit for a serious, and a fun, vacation.

So what do you do when in Berlin on vacation? Firstly, people who make a habit of vacationing in Disneyland do not vacation in Berlin. They should, because they are missing a lot, but the entertainment is of a different order. The Berlin Wall comes to mind immediately, but it is mostly gone. It has been sold in every souvenir shop in the world, and is part of many new German buildings as a symbol of freedom.

The Berlin Wall Museum is well worth visiting, though it seems to be a bit toned down, and not to show it as it was. Perhaps, however, we have inflated preconceptions of what it really was like. It is after all an embarrassment for the German authorities and the watchtower close by was recently removed for apparently no reason. It is close the site of Checkpoint Charlie at the corner of Friedrichstrasse and Zimmerstrasse. You should also visit the Barnderburg Gate which is the symbol of Germany’s occupation and freedom. The museum is well worth a visit and seems a bit more authentic than the Berlin Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie, which was, after all, only one checkpoint on the interface between East and West Berlin.

These museums are still both worth a visit and you should not visit Berlin with a preconception of what life actually was in the city during the cold war. There was a lot of propaganda on both sides, much of which was proved to be false once the wall came down, and the facts given in these museums are frequently regarded with distrust due to these preconceptions.

Berlin is famous for its festivals. There seem to be festivals for everything all year round. Among them are the Berlin International Film Festival, the second most important in the film festival calendar, the Berlin Jazzfest and the Fete de la Music. Then we have the Love Parade which I shall not tell you about, but its political alternative is the Fuck Parade. The Carnival of Culture is very popular, and there are countless others, all very popular and all attended by a friendly and multicultural crowd.

Of course, you mustn’t forget the shopping in Berlin. Berlin is not yet renowned for the top designer outlets, and it benefits from that. Shopping is a different experience in Berlin and it is well worth a Berlin vacation just to check out the shops and the art and craft centers.

If you brought the children, Berlin has the largest zoo in the world. The aquarium is also close by and one day is not enough to visit all the animals. There are also almost 200 kilometers of waterway in Berlin, and the children will enjoy being on the boat while you take part in the boat tour through Berlin.

If you like history, Berlin has over 170 museums and Museum Island, or Museuminsel, is very popular with the Old Museum and the National Gallery among others.

A Berlin vacation is something different, and well worth taking. You will be surprised at the vibrancy of this city which combines the youth of being reborn with the old of what was, and still is, an ancient city of Europe and one of the major cities of the world. It is a unique experience, and as with Rome, everybody should go there at least once in their life.

Maine Vacation Rental

If you have already collected the basic facts about Maine, then you need to also check out the accommodation options and vacation rentals in the state of Maine. Vacation rental options are available on a daily, weekly or a monthly basis for a nominal price. You could alternatively stay in a bed and breakfast inn, where most tourists prefer to stay.

If you are considering renting a room in a bed and breakfast, then you will have more choices as compared to staying in a hotel or any other vacation rental options. Bed and breakfast inns offer you choices from cottages that are reminiscent of historical villas to single rooms and suites. Most of the bed and breakfast vacation rentals offer you value-added services.

The additional services in most bed and breakfast vacation rentals feature private baths, Internet and fax services, air-conditioned rooms, pet care services (paid or free) and proper breakfast services. Prices usually begin from $80. Some bed and breakfast vacation rentals offer you discounts starting anywhere from 45 percent.

The rates for vacation rentals vary. In fact, if you are considering visiting Maine during the peak months (July, August or December), the rates would be much higher than your regular rates.

You need to also check the restrictions, rules and regulations for taking children or pets along. Do some research on payment options, smoking or anti-smoking, and other rules in the inns before you can go in for them.

Pet Friendly Florida Vacation Rentals

Some people relate to and empathize with the fact that for some people a pet is a part of the family. Owners of vacation homes who belong to this category go out of the way to advertise that their doors are open for pets. Florida has its fair share of pet friendly vacation rentals.

Some of the Florida pet friendly vacation rentals do not charge anything extra for pets. Most of the pet friendly vacation rentals welcome guide dogs accompanied by their visually impaired companions. Adequate and necessary arrangements for their stay are made as a matter of routine.

There are a few Florida vacation rentals that specify a limited number of pet friendly guest rooms. Charges are levied as per the amenities provided at the vacation rentals. The average charges for accommodating pets fall in the range of $80-$120 per stay. These charges are levied to offset any maintenance charges that are incurred due to the pets’ stay.

Some Florida pet friendly vacation rentals even advertise that they are open to dogs of any breed and size. Some go a step ahead and offer special doggy treats upon check in. Big pet friendly vacation rentals provide amenities like fenced in yards to keep pets in while you enjoy the glorious outdoors.

The general advice offered to pet owners is to ensure before arrival that a particular rental is pet friendly. This is due to the fact that management policies change from time to time. The reason for this could be either a change of personnel or bad experiences with other guests.

Most of Florida’s pet friendly vacation rentals display what they expect from their guests who have pets in tow. Often, responsible pet handling is requested. Being considerate towards other guests and keeping their pets in control is automatically expected. Pet owners are expected to clean up if their pets create a mess. Some upscale rentals that are pet friendly charge sizable pet deposits. This is just to ensure some sort of insurance against damage if any, caused by the pets.

Hawaii Vacation Rentals

Everybody wants to just get away even for few days—especially those who have very busy working schedules. And one of the most popular destinations for people want to unwind and relax is Hawaii. Hawaii is a dream traveler’s vacation spot because of the many outdoor activities like fishing, surfing, hiking, golf, kayaking, snorkeling and whale watching. Additionally, Hawaii also provides fine dining, entertainment, and shopping. But if you plan to go on vacation in Hawaii and you do not want to stay in a hotel or go on a group tour through a travel agency, the best option for you is Hawaii vacation rentals.

Homeowners in Hawaii offer their primary or secondary residences as vacation rentals. These are excellent options for vacationers because they provide a unique and more personal vacation experience. They also provide a refreshing contrast to more impersonal hotels and give you more options for your vacation experience. The advantage of opting for a vacation rental is that here you can buy your own groceries and cook them at the place you rented. This can save a lot of money compared to eating out for all your needs and also gives you greater flexibility. The vacation rental can also serve as your “home base” if you travel to other areas in Hawaii.

Hawaiian vacation rentals are perfect for a group of friends who want to experience living in the same roof for couple of days. So if you are planning to go on a Hawaiian vacation, make sure that you plan ahead of time and conduct thorough research on Hawaiian vacation rentals online.
